Artimud is a clay based cleansing hoof putty - 300g

Clay-based antibacterial cleansing hoof putty

*New label, new sizes, exactly the same product, ingredients and formula:  You will notice some changes to our labelling but don't worry this is exactly the same product that we have been making for years. We have updated the labels to meet labelling regulatory requirements. Meaning we have omitted some labelling elements that are not mandatory and added others that are. We still use the same quality ingredients in the same high concentrations!

Artimud fills shallow gaps in hooves and provides long-lasting protection against damage. It contains naturally active agents that cleanse the area and support the formation of healthy tissue.  Artimud is non-toxic, safe and easy to use. Artimud is a great product for putting under Sole Support Impression Material to help maintain a healthy environment.

Its thick, putty consistency makes it easy to apply and helps it stay firmly in place so the protective agents can work for longer.

Artimud is ideal for protecting shallow white line crevices, frog clefts and external cracks. It is often used under stick-on shoes and pads to keep soles and frogs in healthy condition. For deeper, tighter cracks, try Hoof-Stuff.

Honey makes fantastic base for this product increasing its health tissue support, antibacterial powers and aiding adhesion into the hole!

Trials showed that although Hoof-Stuff was brilliant in deeper cracks and crevices in the hoof it was unable to stay in shallower cracks and on the surface of the hoof . We came upon the idea that since the only thing that consistently stuck to the areas of the foot we were trying to treat was in fact mud! So we tried to create something similar that had a beneficial rather than detrimental effect - thus Artimud was born.

Artimud can be smoothed, rolled, squashed, spread and molded to stay in the area it was put so its active antibacterial and antifungal agents can support natural tissue health.

Use Artimud in shallower, more open holes/cracks and Hoof-Stuff in deeper, tighter ones.

*Also Available in a 750g size container

  • Green french clay - An antibacterial clay that gives the putty its unique consistency.
  • Bio-active honey Honey has antibacterial and antifungal properties and makes the putty sticky and pliable.
  • Zinc Oxide -  A powerful but gentle antibacterial agent that fights bacteria and fungi and supports natural sole and frog regeneration.
  • Eucalyptus oil - A highly effective antifungal and antibacterial essential oil that helps to toughen weakened structures.

All the ingredients in Artimud are there to either have an antibacterial or antifungal effect or to improve the consistency and hence the longevity of its effect.

We have cut tea tree oil out of the formula as in very rare occasions horses can have an allergic reaction to it. In anaerobic situations it can also detrimentally effect the action of beneficial bacterium!

FAQ:

Do you have to remove and clean crevise in toe daily or does product stay in for certain time ?

The length of time the product stays in for varies (dependent on environment and the specific condition) but generally if the Artimud is staying well in the crevice then replacement is not necessary. Generally people find they have to replace it every few days. Once the crevice has had its initial flushing it will likely not be necessary to clean it out again if it does not get dirt in it again (i.e. if the pack is staying in place).

Should I use Hoof-Stuff or Artimud?

Hoof Stuff is generally used where the crevice is deeper and able to retain a fabric based pack. As a general rule deep & narrow = Hoof Stuff, shallow & wide = Artimud.
As a test see if damp cotton wool will pack into the crack, if it will Hoof Stuff will probably work best, if not opt for Artimud.
